Forward Deployed Engineer

Forward Deployed Engineers collaborate directly with key technical and strategic contacts at Addepar's major enterprise clients. Responsibilities include building custom data integrations, extending platform capabilities, and managing end-to-end project delivery with minimal supervision. The position operates with significant autonomy, allowing engineers to set priorities, lead client interactions, and be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of critically important projects. Each engagement varies in scope, offering diverse opportunities to tackle complex technical challenges and implement emerging technologies. FDEs also translate field insights into scalable, repeatable solutions while collaborating with Addepar's engineering and product teams to inform strategy and contribute to core product development. Requirements: 2+ years professional software engineering experience; proficiency in object-oriented languages (Java/Python preferred) or compiled languages (Go, Rust, Scala); experience with relational or NoSQL database systems; BS+ in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical field; ability to lead complex projects and work effectively in cross-disciplinary environments. Preferred: strongly-typed server-side programming language experience and familiarity with distributed storage frameworks like Arrow, Spark, or Flink.
