Forward Deployed Engineer

Company Mission: Anyscale commercializes Ray, an open-source distributed computing framework used by companies like OpenAI, Uber, and Spotify to scale an ML application from their laptop to the cluster without needing to be a distributed systems expert. Role Overview: The Forward Deployed Engineer partners with strategic customers to achieve business outcomes using Ray and the Anyscale platform. You'll be embedded within customer teams, serving as a technical advisor who aligns solutions with customer priorities and drives adoption. Key Responsibilities: - Lead proof-of-value engagements, deployments, and enterprise adoption onsite with customers - Convert business objectives into technical solutions demonstrating clear ROI - Design and deliver demos, reference architectures, and training programs customized for customer needs - Build trust across organizational levels as a technical advisor - Coordinate with sales, product, and engineering teams to accelerate deals and resolve obstacles - Share customer insights to shape product roadmap and strategy Required Qualifications: - Minimum 5+ years in customer-facing roles (forward deployed engineering, solutions architecture, field engineering, or software engineering) - Strong technical expertise with Ray and real-world application experience - Track record driving enterprise adoption of complex SaaS, infrastructure, or ML/AI solutions - Ability to communicate effectively with both executives and technical contributors - Customer-focused approach with demonstrated measurable business impact delivery - Availability for frequent travel and extended customer site embedments Compensation & Location: $266,970 - $287,043 USD annually.
