Forward Deployed Engineer

Crustdata seeks its first Forward Deployed Engineer to join the founding team. The company builds "the gateway to the internet for AI agents," providing real-time B2B data APIs. With 250+ customers, profitability, and backing from Y Combinator and top-tier investors, this role offers significant growth potential. Key Responsibilities: - Develop rapid prototypes and POCs for prospects - Create demo tooling and reusable sales templates - Conduct technical discovery and solution scoping with customers - Implement turnkey integrations (APIs, pipelines, dashboards) - Connect Crustdata to customer systems and third-party tools - Iterate prototypes into repeatable reference implementations - Share product feedback and document playbooks - Travel occasionally for workshops or on-site engagements Required Qualifications: - 1+ years customer-facing engineering experience (FDE, solutions, pre-sales) - 1+ years shipping production code in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript - Strong SQL and data stack expertise (warehouses, ETL/ELT, data modeling) - Solid software engineering fundamentals - Clear communication skills translating technical tradeoffs for business stakeholders - Startup environment comfort and cross-functional collaboration ability Location: San Francisco, CA (in-person required). Compensation: $150K-$200K + 0.10%-0.15% equity. Experience Required: 1+ years. Visa: US citizen/visa only.
