About the role
LiveKit seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers building real-time communication and voice AI applications on the LiveKit platform. Role sits at intersection of engineering, architecture, and customer implementation. FDE designs architectures, prototypes solutions, debugs production issues, builds reference implementations, and leads technical workshops alongside customers engineering teams. 5+ years backend/infrastructure engineering; proficient in Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++; experience with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure. WebRTC, voice AI, and AI infrastructure experience a plus. Hiring at multiple levels (FDE, Senior FDE, Staff FDE). Remote with on-site travel as needed. $180K-$320K + equity.
