Forward Deployed Engineer

Handshake seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with AI research labs, identifying technical challenges and designing deployment solutions that impact customer workflows and model performance. Key Responsibilities: Partner with AI labs and internal teams to gather requirements and design effective solutions; rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on custom tools addressing unique challenges; own delivery from concept through production deployment; contribute to architectural decisions for reliability and scalability; document solutions and create technical playbooks for repeatable processes. Required Qualifications: 2-4 years professional software engineering experience; proficiency in ReactJS and TypeScript; understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and data modeling; familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and deployment pipelines; strong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders; ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments. Preferred Experience: production systems for LLMs or AI-powered products; component libraries and design systems; frontend/full-stack performance optimization. Compensation: $150K-$200K annually.
