Forward Deployed Engineer

Interlaced, a Lyra Technology Group portfolio company, seeks a Forward Deployment AI Engineer to embed with clients and design, build, and deploy production-grade AI solutions. The role combines hands-on engineering with client relationship management. Key responsibilities: identify and secure new business opportunities while managing client relationships; work directly with clients to discover operational pain points and identify AI/automation opportunities; design and build AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, or similar; develop AI-powered workflows integrating with existing systems (CRMs, ERPs, cloud platforms); engineer automation solutions for document processing, data extraction, reporting, and operations; own full delivery lifecycle from scoping through handoff and documentation; train client teams on solution maintenance and iteration; serve as technical advisor translating AI capabilities to non-technical stakeholders; contribute reusable components and delivery templates internally. Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; 2+ years professional experience in software engineering, AI/ML, or technical consulting; Python proficiency and familiarity with REST APIs and cloud services; hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini); understanding of prompt engineering, RAG, and agentic workflow patterns; ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-moving environments; strong communication skills. Preferred: workflow automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n, Lindy); vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma); low-code/no-code tool experience; prior consulting or forward-deployed engineering experience; SMB client experience across professional services, healthcare, logistics, or retail.
