Forward Deployed Engineer

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll collaborate with customers and founding leadership to transform industrial workflows into functional end-to-end AI agents. The work varies daily—one day might involve analyzing how an inside sales team processes RFQs, the next could involve building integrations, enhancing product matching algorithms, creating agent evaluations, or consulting with industry veterans. Key Responsibilities: - Develop AI agents for quote intake, order entry, product matching, pricing, inventory checks, and communications - Integrate with legacy systems including mainframe ERPs, CRMs, email systems, and spreadsheets - Work alongside users to understand actual workflows rather than documented processes - Deliver full-stack features across backend services, internal tools, interfaces, and data pipelines - Create feedback mechanisms to improve agent reliability progressively - Resolve production issues in customer environments and convert fixes into scalable improvements Ideal Candidate Profile - Must-haves: - Technical background (CS degree or equivalent) with enthusiasm for AI coding tools - Interest in building product collaboratively with end-users - Prior LLM project experience through startups, hackathons, open-source, research, or automation - Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences - Genuine curiosity about non-tech industries Valued Experience: - Industrial or distribution sector knowledge - ERP system familiarity - Outlook integration experience - Customer-facing technical roles (FDE, solutions engineering, consulting, freelance work) Compensation: $50K - $200K + 0.10% - 2.00% equity. Location: San Francisco, CA. Frequent travel to customer sites for real-world agent deployment.
