Forward Deployed Engineer

paretos is an AI-driven decision intelligence platform enabling organizations to make data-informed choices across supply chain, finance, and operations using business agents that evaluate complex datasets and predict scenarios without requiring data science expertise. This Forward Deployed Engineer role splits time between client sites (25-50%) and the Heidelberg office in the Rhein-Neckar region. Responsibilities: conducting discovery and requirements workshops with stakeholders across supply chain, finance, and operations; translating business needs into platform configurations and facilitating data-driven decisions; configuring forecast and replenishment solutions iteratively on the paretos platform; integrating customer data and establishing semantic data foundations; ensuring results integrate into customer workflows via ERP or planning systems; building dashboards and data processes using vibe engineering; converting recurring tasks into reusable skills and agent workflows; creating presentations and documentation with AI assistance. Application areas include demand forecasting with driver identification and model configuration, replenishment and inventory optimization end-to-end, and custom solution deployment addressing specific client challenges. Requirements: multiple years in customer-facing technical roles (FDE, solutions engineering, implementation consulting, or software engineering with consulting background); strong data affinity with ability to recognize cause-and-effect patterns; demonstrated AI-first approach using agents, LLMs, and prompt engineering; production-level LLM and agent-system experience; high autonomy and capability navigating complex organizations; clear communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences; native-level German (C1) and fluent English. Preferred experience in supply chain/FMCG, finance/controlling, pharma/life sciences, ERP/BI systems, S&OP processes, and AI deployment patterns.
