About the role
Periodic Labs deploys AI-driven simulation for advanced manufacturing physical process optimization. FDE (Physics & Simulation) spends significant time on-site (including extended periods in Taiwan) owning the end-to-end simulation workflow for customer engagements -- model setup, calibration, iterative recipe optimization. Builds and debugs physics-based simulations (multiphase flow, capillary dynamics, viscosity, curing), develops Python tooling for job submission and parameter sweeps, partners with internal ML/RL teams to couple simulation with LLM-driven recipe generation. Strong foundations in numerical simulation (CFD, heat transfer, FEM); Python scientific computing (NumPy/SciPy); comfort working directly with customer engineering teams required. CFD tools (OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent, Star-CCM+) and Mandarin (for Taiwan on-site) are advantages. Visa sponsorship available. $200,000-$275,000.
