RIZM Seed
Forward Deployed Engineer
Münster On-site €60K–€80K Added Jun 22
About the role
RIZM seeks engineers to deploy an Agentic Energy OS at industrial sites. You'll be actively building the engine, not rolling out finished products. The work involves teaching AI agents, engineering tool execution, and iterating on customer feedback rapidly.
Core Responsibilities - The Four-Layer System You'll Work With: Digital Twin: Build live models of customer energy systems including power grids, gas, steam systems, and battery storage. Decision Hub: Investment planning, scenario design, and portfolio roadmap analysis. Operation Hub: Cross-market optimization for Day Ahead, Intraday, and balancing energy markets. Autonomous Agent: Support agents that build digital twins autonomously and flag data contradictions.
Example Tuesday Activities: You'd work on chemical sites with multiple steam consumers, review AI-developed optimization scenarios, and catch data contradictions before they corrupt analysis.
Required Qualifications - Three Deep Skill Areas (need strong spike in one, curiosity in other two): 1. Applied AI Engineering: treat hallucinations as an engineering problem, not a vibe. 2. Energy Intelligence: DACH/EU power markets, thermodynamics, process understanding, optimization intuition, OPC UA/Modbus familiarity. 3. Commercial Ownership: extract unstated requirements, build business cases independently, measure success by EUR/unit reduction.
Non-Negotiable Transversal Strength: Quick iteration, prioritize customer feedback, become RIZM's fastest signal-to-engine path. Language: C1 German required; most customer operations run in German.
Career Path Options: Junior (~60k): Munster-based, supervised deployments, full-time in-person. Mid - Industrial Cluster (~80k + bonus): On-site at pharma/chemicals/steel/automotive accounts. Mid - Backend Wizard (~80k + bonus): Deep agent modeling, tool architecture, AI training pipelines.
What This Role Is NOT: Customer Success/SaaS training job, 9-to-5 position, Algorithm development role.
Benefits: Stanford University technology foundation, Direct ownership from Day 1, Mentorship from experienced leaders, Competitive compensation package.
